West Ham quoted tempting fee for City man as third Tarkowski bid fails

West Ham have seen a third bid for Burnley defender – believed to be £31million – rejected by Burnley.

Tarkowski’s future at Burnley has come into question recently, with the defender targeting a return to the England national team.

The centre-back recently added fuel to the fire surrounding a potential exit when admitting he wants to play at the highest level.

“For me, with the age I am coming into my prime years and wanting to progress, I want to go for the top level,” he told the Telegraph earlier this week.

“I want to play at the best level I can, club football and internationally. I want to test myself against the best. We will see what happens.

“I just want to play at the top level and if that opportunity came I don’t think it is something I could turn down.

“Champions League and playing for your country, playing in big tournaments, is playing at the top level, so that’s what I would want to do if the opportunities came.”

While Champions League football might be a stretch for Tarkowski just now, an exit route out of Turf Moor has presented itself in the shape of the Hammers.

Burnley recently rejected a bid of around £25m from West Ham for Tarkowski. Some reports claimed they wanted around double that amount.

Last week, David Moyes’ side raised that offer to £30m; a bid which was again rejected.

Now Sky Sports are reporting that West Ham have seen a third approach fail for the player – this time worth £31m.

While it remains to be seen whether the Hammers will come back in for a fourth time remains to be seen. But appears Burnley’s determination to keep the twice-capped defender remains resolute.

City star Tosin Adarabioyo an option

While a bid for Tarkowski looks destined for failure, reports suggest they could have more joy moving for Tosin Adarabioyo.

The Manchester City defender caught the eye during a loan stint at West Brom in 2018/19 and has further enhanced his reputation tlast time around with Blackburn.

Despite that, his prospects at City look bleak and reported interest from the Hammers has seen them quoted a temping price.

As per Claret&Hugh, they cite a ‘club insider’ who has stated that Adarabioyo has been made available for £8m.

Whether West Ham follow up that initial interest with a firm approach remains to be seen.

However, the England U21 international comes with a growing reputation and has been linked with moves to Leeds, Everton and Wolves in the past.
