Transfer Gossip: Tottenham to receive colossal Harry Kane offer as Man Utd hatch special plan; Liverpool star ‘says his farewells’

Tottenham striker Harry Kane

A transfer chain reaction started by Kylian Mbappe is set to see Tottenham receive a full valuation bid for Man Utd target Harry Kane, while a Liverpool star has said his goodbyes at Anfield and Chelsea have rejected a huge West Ham bid for a player leading outlets cannot agree on – all in Tuesday’s Transfer Gossip.

MBAPPE FIRST, KANE NEXT?

Kylian Mbappe’s proposed world-record move to Al Hilal is expected to kickstart a separate move involving Tottenham talisman Harry Kane, per a report.

PSG have accepted Al Hilal’s mammoth €300m (approx. £259m) bid for France megastar Mbappe. PSG are reportedly convinced Mbappe has an agreement in place to join Real Madrid in 2024 and are determined to cash in while they still can. His current deal in Paris expires in 12 months’ time.

Fabrizio Romano reported talks between Mbappe and Al Hilal are yet to open. However, to ensure they can lure Mbappe to Saudi Arabia for what could be just a single season, Al Hilal are reportedly prepared to pay an annual salary of €200m (approx. £3.3m per week).

Now, according to the Independent, if Mbappe does join Al Hilal, PSG will ‘will go even bigger for [Harry] Kane’.

Spurs are determined to hold on to their all-time leading scorer. Kane is out of contract next summer and has already been the subject of two failed bids from Bayern Munich.

Man Utd too hold strong interest in Kane who ESPN claimed was Erik ten Hag’s dream signing. However, per the Independent, if PSG sell Mbappe, they’re more than prepared to meet Daniel Levy’s £100m valuation of Kane.

However, the story might not end there, with the report noting if it becomes apparent Tottenham are actively negotiating a Kane sale, Man Utd could spring into action.

The Red Devils are primed to submit their first official bid to sign Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund this week. In a boost for the Red Devils, Atalanta have just struck an agreement to sign Hojlund’s replacement.

However, per the Independent, it’s believed Man Utd ‘would be prepared to set aside separate funds for the England international, such is the value of the signing.’

In another positive sign for United, it’s claimed Kane would see joining Man Utd – ahead of both PSG and Bayern – as ‘first priority’.

Of course, that scenario may all hinge on Mbappe moving to Al Hilal first and thus kickstarting serious conversations between PSG and Tottenham over Kane.

LIVERPOOL STAR ON THE MOVE; REASON FOR LEAVING EMERGES

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has said his goodbyes at Anfield ahead of completing an eye-watering move to Steven Gerrard’s Al Ettifaq, per a report.

Henderson, 33, will bring his 12-year association with Liverpool to an end in the coming days. A deal worth £12m plus add-ons has been agreed, with the England international passing a medical on Friday. The midfielder will earn around £700,000-a-week at his new club.

Now, according to the Daily Mail, Henderson has ‘said his farewells’ on the back of a critical conversation with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.

Explaining why Henderson has said yes to the move, the report claimed Henderson spoke ‘at length’ with Klopp regarding his game-time next season.

With Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai signed and more midfielder additions on the way, Henderson’s chances of featuring week in, week out seemingly tumbled.

As a result, Henderson’s anticipated reduced role next year is suggested to have played a role in his thinking.

CHELSEA REJECT HUGE WEST HAM BID

West Ham have seen a £40m bid for Conor Gallagher rejected, and varying outlets cannot agree on whether the Blues might cash in if an improved offer is tabled.

Gallagher, 23, has emerged on both West Ham and Tottenham’s radars. However, the Evening Standard stated it was the Hammers who had taken the lead in the aftermath of selling Declan Rice to Arsenal for a whopping £105m.

David Moyes wants two midfield additions, with one being a direct replacement for Rice and the other (potentially Gallagher), more of a box-to-box option.

Fabrizio Romano brought news of West Ham lodging a £40m bid for Gallagher on Monday night. The Evening Standard claim the offer comprised £37m plus £3m in add-ons, though Chelsea rejected the proposal.

However, the story might not end there, with the Standard adamant Gallagher is surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.

What’s more, a prior Standard update claimed Gallagher too has accepted he must leave with a contract extension unlikely to be offered in the future.

However, that is directly at odds with Sky Sports who claim Pochettino ‘sees [Gallagher] as part of his squad’ moving forward.

Furthermore, Sky claimed Chelsea are in fact open to extending Gallagher’s deal. His current contract expires in 2025.

Whether Chelsea are open to selling Gallagher if an improved bid is tabled is thus unclear at present. However, what is clear is the Blues certainly value Gallagher higher than the £40m West Ham opened the bidding at.

On the subject of whether West Ham will try again, the Standard suggested they won’t.
