Pundit tips new Tottenham signing to have ‘massive impact’ and make life easier for key duo

Arnaut Danjuma Tottenham

New Tottenham signing Arnaut Danjuma is being tipped to have a ‘massive’ impact in north London after joining them on loan from Villarreal.

Spurs hijacked Everton’s proposed move for the Netherlands international on Wednesday after Danjuma had reached an agreement and undergone medical tests with the Toffees over the weekend.

Antonio Conte’s men agreed a loan deal for the former Bournemouth forward, with a view to a permanent transfer.

He could now make his debut in Saturday’s FA Cup tie at Preston North End.

But speaking about the deal that Tottenham were able to pull off, former Hibernian striker Tam McManus believes they may have landed a coup.

He told Football Insider: “He is someone Tottenham needed.

“They have needed a wide man, someone who can create more chances for those strikers. He did very well at Villarreal and I think his arrival will give Tottenham a lift.

“Signings can do that, that can change the mood at a club. Especially if the supporters are on the club’s back a bit.

“Kane and Son have been starved of service. Kane has managed to make the most of what he has been given. God knows where they would be without his goals this season.

“Danjuma is proven at the highest level. He isn’t just some random player. He would have been a massive signing for Everton.

“He’ll have a massive impact at Tottenham if he can stay fit.”

Danjuma arrival set to signal one exit

Danjuma joins a strong attacking line-up at Tottenham that includes the likes of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison.

But one player who is unlikely to remain in that mix is Spanish youngster Bryan Gil.

Indeed, Sevilla have now ramped up their efforts to try and bring the 21-year-old back to the club where it all started.

A report in Spanish outlet Outlet Mucho Deporte states that Sevilla are expected to try and make an attempt to sign Gil before the window shuts next week.

The talented attacker has shown rare glimpses of his quality. However, Conte still feels he’s too lightweight for English football and is happy to see him leave on loan again.
