Firmino receives ‘huge offer’ to form unlikely Man Utd link-up, as trusted source details five clubs Liverpool great could join

Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino

A trusted source has named five clubs Roberto Firmino could join when leaving Liverpool, and the chance to form an unlikely link-up with Man Utd legend Cristiano Ronaldo is real.

Roberto Firmino will bring his eight-year stint at Anfield to a close at season’s end. The Brazilian, 31, will leave as a free agent and whether the Reds will be hunting a replacement is as yet unknown. Indeed, Jurgen Klopp’s side have already added two players capable of leading the line in the last two windows – Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez.

In any case, today’s update regards the future of Firmino himself and where the Liverpool great may wind up.

His 15 goal contributions in just 1,471 minutes of action this season suggest he has plenty left in the tank. That roughly equates to a goal contribution every 98 minutes.

Firmino won’t lack for options all across the globe. Indeed, Football Insider recently reported he’d received a ‘huge offer’ to join Cristiano Ronaldo in the Saudi Arabian Pro League.

The identity of which club had tabled the alleged offer wasn’t revealed. But according to trusted reporter Ben Jacobs, it was seemingly Ronaldo’s club Al-Nassr.

Writing in his column for Caught Offside, Jacobs namechecked five potential clubs Firmino could join and all have registered their interest to some degree already.

Among them were sides in Saudi Arabia and America, though European heavyweights too were mentioned, meaning Liverpool may yet come up against Firmino in a future European competition.

Firmino could form Ronaldo partnership

“Al Nassr are interested and are also looking at PSG’s Sergio Ramos, which shows the type of stars they want to bring in alongside [Cristiano] Ronaldo,” said Jacobs.

“Inter Milan are another club to watch, and there have been links with Galatasaray. MLS clubs, including Atlanta United, have historically considered Firmino, knowing as he hits his early thirties a move may be possible.

“But even six months ago the feedback they received was he still could extend at Liverpool. That tells you Firmino’s decision was not made lightly and now Atlanta have added Giorgos Giakoumakis from Celtic.

“I still think Firmino can go and join a big Champions League club. I am told Atletico Madrid is one to watch.”
