Everton on the brink of major signing after skillful attacker left out of pre-season clash

Villarreal's Dutch forward Arnaut Danjuma is a transfer target for Everton once again

Arnaut Danjuma’s loan move to Everton is expected to be finalised on Saturday after he was left out of Villarreal’s pre-season clash with Hannover.

Mundo Deportivo and AS states that the Netherlands international’s absence from the game ‘makes it clear’ that he could soon as the negotiations for his move to Goodison Park are ‘well advanced’.

The LaLiga side are said to have everything arranged for the loan deal to happen, a fact that also saw him left out of Villarreal’s previous friendly encounter too.

And now Mundo expects the transfer to be closed over the next few hours.

It will be a case of second time lucky for Everton with Danjuma, who almost joined in January before deciding to head to Tottenham instead.

However, things did not go well in north London at all as the winger was used sparingly by a Spurs team that ended up finishing eighth in the Premier League table.

Reports from Spain add that all that remains is for the procedures of the deal to be completed, meaning the medical and relevant documents being signed.

When he does sign, Danjuma will become Sean Dyche’s second summer signing after the free agent addition on Ashley Young.

The Toffees are having to work to a restricted budget this summer, with loans and free agent deals their best route to bolstering Dyche’s first-team squad.

Everton open their Premier League campaign with a home game against Fulham on August 12.
