Euro Paper Talk: Big-money striker greenlights Man Utd move in huge Ten Hag fillip; Everton face Milan battle for LaLiga forward

Atalanta and Denmark striker Rasmus Hojlund is a Man Utd transfer target

Manchester United have seemingly been given the nod to try and complete a deal for a top Erik ten Hag striker target, while Everton face a battle with Italian giants AC Milan in their bid to sign a Villarreal attacker this summer – both in Friday’s Euro Paper Talk.

UNITED GIVEN STRIKER NOD BUT PRICE REMAINS STICKING POINT

Manchester United are reportedly getting encouragement that top Erik ten Hag strike target Rasmus Hojlund wants to join the club this summer.

The Red Devils are on the verge of making Andre Onana their second signing of the transfer window, with a £47million deal close.

And, after Mason Mount was brought on board, a move for a new No.9 has always been high on Ten Hag’s agenda.

And now a fresh report claims that the Red Devils have been given the nod that Hojlund wants to jump on board too.

The Atalanta hitman impressed for the Serie A side last season, scoring nine goals across all competitions as his playing style drew comparisons with Erling Haaland’s.

Hojlund has also previously admitted to being a ‘huge fan’ of United, although Atalanta are playing hardball over his price tag.

Hojlund price tag still represents a problem

The Serie A side are currently demanding a whopping £85million in order to let Hojlund to switch clubs this summer. However, that figure is completely unrealistic for United, so unless a big compromise can be made then the transfer will not happen.

Indeed, Ten Hag has already been looking at alternatives, with reports on Thursday revealing that United are also in the hunt for Juventus frontman Dusan Vlahovic.

The Serbian is available for around £68m but is also on the radar of both PSG and Tottenham as they look for new strikers of their own.
