Dominic Solanke: Uncertain Chelsea future

Chelsea starlet Dominic Solanke is reportedly a target for Arsenal, with the Blues struggling to agree a new deal for the forward.

Solanke, who is currently on a season-long loan at Vitesse Arnheim, is said to be demanding a contract with £50,000 a week to stay at Stamford Bridge.

The 18-year-old, who was named England Young Player of the Year, has managed only 17 minutes of first-team action and is said to be looking for guarantees over opportunities to prove himself in the Premier League.

With talks stalling, Arsenal are now sniffing around the England Under-21 international.

According to The Sun, the Gunners are not yet prepared to meet Solanke’s wage demands but are said to be willing to ‘offer him a bigger role within the club’.

Solanke has scored seven goals in 24 appearances for Vitesse this term, with his current salary said to be £8,000 a week.
