Newcastle, West Ham on red alert as thrilling winger drops Premier League transfer hint
Former Bournemouth man Arnaut Danjuma has revealed he misses the Premier League, and interest from England could point to a return.
Danjuma played for Bournemouth in the Premier League in the 2019/20 season. The Dutchman played in 14 games, but failed to score.
His second season in England, following Bournemouth’s relegation, was much more successful. Indeed, Danjuma bagged 15 goals and provided seven assists in the second tier.
His good season led to a £21.15million move to Villarreal, and the 25-year-old has impressed during his time in Spain. He has scored eight league goals this term, as well as five in the Champions League.
As such, sides have begun to take notice. There was reported interest from Liverpool, while West Ham and Newcastle United have also been linked with a transfer for Danjuma.
The winger may be keen on a move back to the Premier League, too. He revealed how much he enjoyed playing in England in a recent interview with 90min.
“I 100% enjoyed my time in England. Looking back now I no way appreciated it as much as I should have done when I lived there,” he said.
“For me, it’s just such a nice country to live in and I’m fluent in the language so that helps as well! I’m trying my best at Spanish as well. I’ve got family that still lives in England.”

It does sound as if he may be angling for a return to England.
Villarreal have him valued at around £63million, so any interested sides would be parting with a significant sum in order to bring him back.
Danjuma misses Premier League
Danjuma also revealed that he is missing the Premier League, the crowd reception in particular.
“In terms of the Premier League, it’s indescribable. The thing I will never forget in the Premier League is the fans. If you just walk into the stadium you cannot replicate the feeling of a Premier League game elsewhere in the world, it’s different,” he said.
“So in that regard you are always going to miss a bit of England. If I’m returning one day, I guess that’s up to the way I perform and what the future holds for me.”
A return could well be on the cards, should any of the interested Premier League outfits be keen on pursuing Danjuma further.
