Angry Cristiano Ronaldo blasts media over Ramos allegations

Cristiano Ronaldo has lashed out at the media following reports all is not well at Real Madrid between him and teammate Sergio Ramos.

The Portuguese superstar ended an unusually-long six-match drought by scoring twice on Tuesday night as Real thumped APOEL 6-0 in Cyprus.

The brace ensured Ronaldo became the first person to score 18 goals in a calendar year in the competition – but it came amid a flurry of speculation over his future in the build-up to the match.

The 32-year-old was last week reported to have already made the decision to quit the Bernabeu at the end of the season, citing the club’s aggressive pursuit of Kylian Mbappe in the summer as a principle reason for his dissatisfaction.

Further reports have suggested Ronaldo has fallen out with club captain Ramos, with the latter seemingly accusing the former of getting involved in off-field matters and the club’s decision to sell Alvaro Morata to Chelsea this summer.

As Ronaldo walked through the mixed zone post-match on Tuesday, the Portuguese told reporters: “How can I talk to you if I say one thing and you write something else?”

Karim Benzema was also back in the goals during the romp, much to the delight of his manager Zinedine Zidane, who said:  “We played a good game, a very serious game.

“I’m very happy. We kept a clean sheet and we scored six goals.

“I’m happy for them [Ronaldo and Benzema], they keep on working. We knew it was going to happen, that their goals would come. Now they have to keep working like this.

“We know they’re both very good. Now we have to think about the next game.”
